So what’s the deal with these things? Felony basically eats my face off to get them. He gets two, sometimes 3 if he shoves his head into the jar before I can stop him, every single day. I’m crazy irritated that Oxbow no longer sells the big 200 count tubs and I think the new bottle size lasts almost a month with Felony.

So my question is, does it matter what kind of papaya tablet he eats? Can I give him ones that are marketed for humans? I’m looking to buy in bulk, and not have to order the new mini bottles of the Oxbow every month.

It doesn’t matter – I’ve given mine human ones. What matters is that he likes the human ones. When I give them I use them as treats.

If you are looking for treats, also try the acidophilus tablets, most of my rabbits go crazy for these as well. They come in Strawberry, Blueberry and Banana flavors.

Hmmm… Good tip Sarita. I use them as treats as well. He gets them before bed, so when I go in to brush my teeth at night I see him zoom past the bedroom door and pop up onto the bed waiting for me to give him his papaya. He’s seriously psychotic about them.

The good thing with the acidophilus tablets is that they taste pretty good for humans too. They aren’t cheap either but I have gotten them on sale at Sprouts if you have a sprouts – okay once I went there and they were on sale. I get the American Health ones. You can find them at Whole Foods too.

My old arthritic rabbit, Maxine, who cannot walk will practically knock me over scooting to get the acidophilus tablets. So maybe Felony might be psycho over these as well.
