Yesterday I bought a new package of Vitacraft Lofty’s treats. After giving one to Mr. Bunny, I set the opened contained down on top of the food bin. I guess I forgot to ever put it inside…Today I noticed that it had spilled all over the floor – and Mr. Bunny was gobbling up the peices like mad. I took it right away, but he managed to eat at least 8 or 9 before I could pick them all up. I’m not sure how many he ate before that, but there are quite a few less in the box than there were yesterday. I was just wondering…is there anything that can happen to him (besides weight gain and gas) from eating all those treats? I gave him a little Simethicone in case he gets gassy (he gets gas really easily).

Probably not. I would just watch him closely though if he is subject to digestive upset.

I would probably try though to get different treats in the future – I just looked those up and the ingredients probably aren’t the best thing for rabbits. Just something to think about next time when purchasing treats for Mr. Bunny.

I normally only give 1-2 of these treats a day, max…these are his “special occasion” treats…he normally gets dried papaya or raisins as a treat.

You might want to give him some extra water and a lot of hay. I would make sure he has a hay heavy diet for a day or two so his gut will be very active in getting rid of the excess treats. Glad you’re using the sim. for any gas.
